What services does A Better Classroom offer?

A Better Classroom does year-long consulting and monitoring, workshops for classroom leadership, and individual coaching for teachers. We can also combine any of these services for a comprehensive package for your institution.

Being proactive in designing a classroom with consistent, equitable rules and standards helps to increase on-task learning time. Developing meaningful relationships with students and understanding the motivations behind reactions and/or behaviors is key to maintaining this focus. Students work best in a classroom with predictable, respect-based expectations and procedures. More effective learning is produced when the focus is on the material and not on off-task or disruptive behaviors. Effective problem-solving, modeling positive resilience, and building trust are all facets of a successful classroom.

Additionally, more students than ever before are coming to school with trauma from Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE). And despite teachers’ best intentions, few are educated or trained to design environments prepared for these circumstances. Understanding children’s actions and reactions - from a developmental and social perspective - is necessary for positive student interaction. With this, teachers can be proactive, supportive, and effective regarding student behaviors, and developing positive environments for student success.

Our workshops and programs are research based and developed by classroom teachers. Educators need someone who completely understands the day-to-day challenges of a classroom.
